Wednesday, January 27th, 6:30 p.m.:  Mid-week prayer meeting.  Having finished our series on Prayer, we will continue in our devotions from A Puritan Catechism.  The devotional for this Wednesday is titled “Why Baptism and Communion?” and the text read will be from Acts 20:1-12.  This week we will receive a report from Brother John Hunter and Brother Terry Giddens on their recent mission trip to Guyana.

Saturday, January 30th, 1:00 p.m.: “The Sounds of Sovereign Grace” radio broadcast can be heard every Saturday afternoon on Grace Radio WGRW, 90.7 FM.  This is a ministry outreach of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, taught by Brother John Hunter, and now, with occasional teaching from Brother Jon Cardwell.

Sunday morning, January 31st, 9:45 a.m., Sunday school begins with praises & choruses in the sanctuary, dismissing children and youth at 10:00 a.m. while audlts remain in the sanctuary.

The Children’s Sunday school are for those under 11 years and under and held in the educational center on the east wing of the building.  The children are taught Bible truth using flanel graphic presentation, Scripture memorization, followed by a craft that reinforces the lessons learned.

Youth Sunday school classes are for those young people attending grades 7-12 or are ages 12-17.  The youth class includes prayer, catechism recitation and memorization, and the verse-by-verse reading and study of Scripture.  Brother Jon Cardwell teaches this class, and currently, we are studying the Gospel According to Luke.  This class is held in the pastor’s office in the building just north and behind the main building.

Sunday morning, January 31st, 11:00 a.m.:  We will continue our study of The Epistle of Paul to the Romans. This weeks message is entitled, Victory by the Spirit and our text will be taken from Romans 8:31-39.  A more complete outline of Romans 8 can be found by clicking here.

Sunday prayer meeting is held in the nursery prior to the evening service on 5:30 p.m.

Sunday evening, 6:00 p.m.:  We will continue our study in the Gospel of John, picking up our study where we left off in John 11.  The message is titled, Do We Glorify the Son?” taken from text John 11:1-16.

Wednesday, October 14th, 6:30 p.m.:  Mid-week Prayer Meeting.  Our devotion this week will examine briefly No Other Name: The Redeemer of God’s Elect,” from our studies from A Puritan Catechism.  Immediately following the prayer meeting and devotion, we will have our regular business meeting.

Week of July 6th – 12th

Wednesday, July 8th, 6:30 p.m.:  Our devotion will continue through A Puritan Catechism.  In this week’s devotion we will look at “The Triunity of God.”  The Scripture text is taken from Romans 8:9-11.

There will be a regular business meeting immediately following the Wednesday evening prayer meeting.

Sunday morning, July 12th, 11:00 a.m.:  Brother John Hunter will be preaching during the morning service.  We will also partake of the Lord’s Table immediately following the morning message.

Sunday evening, July 12th, 6:00 p.m.:  The evening Bible study continues in the Gospel of John, chapter 5.  The message is entitled, “The Testimonies for Christ.”  The Scripture text is taken from John 5:31-47.

Preaching & Presentation from John Hunter

Brother John Hunter delivered an excellent exposition of Psalm 2 last Sunday morning, May 17th.  His message was  entitled, “The Heathen’s Rage and the Laughter of God.”  The message is available for free download or online streaming at SermonAudio.com.

Brother John Hunter and wife, Kathy, used PowerPoint to present their mission work in Guyana last Sunday evening.
